How to use this tool
Randomly assign pasted names to balanced teams by team count or maximum people per team.
- Enter your values in the labeled fields.
- Select Shuffle teams to generate a new assignment.
- Copy or print your result.
Formula and example
Names are shuffled with Fisher–Yates using browser cryptographic randomness, then distributed in round-robin order. Six names divided into two teams give three people each. Seven names with a maximum of three per team give three teams of sizes 3, 2, and 2.
Limits and assumptions
Enter 1–1000 names, one per line. Distinguish duplicate names with labels. Team count or maximum group size must be a positive whole number no greater than the number of names. Teams differ by at most one person. Changing settings requires Shuffle teams; printing or copying preserves the current assignment. Does not balance skill, role, or preferences. All processing is local; inputs are not stored or transmitted.
