Formula and example
Unit price = total package price ÷ (size of each package × multipack quantity), after converting compatible units. A 16 oz package for 4.99 costs 0.3119 per oz; 32 oz for 7.99 costs 0.2497 per oz.
Limits and assumptions
Use one currency and compare equivalent products. Mass and volume cannot be interconverted without density. Ounces are mass and fluid ounces are US volume. Custom units must represent the same quantity. Package sizes must be positive; multipack counts must be whole numbers. Prices allow up to two decimal places. All processing is local; inputs are not stored or transmitted.
