How to use this tool

Scale ingredient quantities to your desired servings and print an adjusted recipe list.

  1. Enter your values in the labeled fields. Add or remove entries as needed.
  2. Results update automatically as inputs change. Review the result and assumptions.
  3. Copy or print your result.

Formula and example

Scale factor = desired servings ÷ original servings. Adjusted quantity = original quantity × scale factor. Going from 4 to 8 servings doubles 1½ cups to 3 cups. Set desired servings to half or twice the original for halving or doubling.

Limits and assumptions

Accepts decimals, fractions such as 1/2, and mixed fractions such as 1 1/2. Units are preserved as entered and are not converted. Results round to four decimal places. Review seasoning, leavening, pan size, and cooking time separately. Quantities can be zero; servings must be positive. All processing is local; inputs are not stored or transmitted.
